Stress Management

In today's world, virtually all of us experience significant amounts of stress. We may have to work more than we would like just to make ends meet. Demands for our time may leave us feeling that there aren't enough hours in the day to get things done. Family vacations and other quality time spent with our significant other, our kids, or our extended family and friends, seem to take a backseat to other demands and obligations. The 'keeping up with the Jones's' mentality that dominates much of our culture may be leaving us feeling empty or inadequate. Indeed, we may feel that our very purpose in life has become lost within the hustle and bustle of mere day-to-day living.

What we have found is that an inordinate amount of stress is often the manifestation of unrealistic demands and expectations that we put onto ourselves. In other words, we tend to replace "I would like to do this" or "I would like to have this" with "I must do this" and "I must have this" - and it all goes downhill from there. Our stress management interventions focus on eliminating those kinds of rigid "all or nothing" thoughts and to help you develop a more realistic and rational mindset that includes finding the time to enjoy yourself and the people, places, and things that matter most to you.
